Create Stories for Friends

Not sure how I feel about this. Instagram is testing a new feature that would allow users to post stories to their friend’s story. The objective here is to increase collaboration and gain exposure. I could see this being a benefit to brands and businesses working with influencers, but does the average Instagram user really want this?

Eh… We’ll see.

State of Mobile

data.ai looked at how apps across different consumer categories performed in 2023 and predicts where they’ll be headed in 2024. Here are some interesting finds:

  • The average person spends 5 hours per day on a mobile device

  • Consumers spent more than $60 million in apps, excluding games

  • 257 billion apps were downloaded in 2023, which equates to >489,000 apps per minute

What’s Ahead for Xitter

X has laid out a roadmap for 2024, which is the next step in Elon’s “everything app” plan. Let’s take a look at what changes may be coming, especially now that it claims its a “video first” platform.

  • In-app payments between users

  • Improved AI features for ads and search tools

  • Focus on video content for ads

Facebook now lets users create multiple profiles under their main Facebook account. Each profile can have different names as well as their own feeds and friends lists. This seems a bit counterintuitive to their fight against fake accounts and keyboard warriors using fake names. I could see this ending poorly.

Create Compelling Content
